A song<\/strong> can also be a time capsule<\/strong> that contains memories<\/strong>, events<\/strong>, fears<\/strong> and emotions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us, the ordinary listeners<\/strong>, opening such a time capsule<\/strong>, in the form of random listening, is usually a nostalgic process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for a creator<\/strong>, things can be more complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is certainly the case with Dave Grohl<\/strong>, who has problem listening to old songs of the band that made him widely known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course we’re talking about Nirvana<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the musician<\/strong> is never bored and always feeds musical news with his band’s hits, Foo Fighters<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He often remembers his old band <\/strong>which he joined in 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview on “Guardian”, he revealed that he could hardly hear<\/strong> his old band <\/strong>because of emotional charge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One song<\/strong> that is hard for him to listen is “You Know You’re Right<\/strong>“, the last one he recorded with Cobain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI listened to it for the first time in 10 years. Oh God, it\u2019s hard to listen to. It was written during soundcheck on tour. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was not a pleasant time for the band. Kurt was unwell. Then he was well. Then he was unwell. <\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last year of the band was tough.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the time we got to Europe I remember it being cold. It was the first time I felt depression. <\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was one day where I couldn\u2019t get out of bed. I started to question why we were even there.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The song<\/strong> continues to touch Grohl<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLyrically, it\u2019s heartbreaking. He was in a place we may not have recognised. <\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musically, there\u2019s something cathartic.<\/em><\/em>You know, I miss his voice. I miss him \u2026<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t think he was comfortable in the place that he was at the time.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t know if anybody was. But his experience was much different. <\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I used to think it sounded like he was singing the chorus. Now I listen to it and it\u2019s like he\u2019s wailing.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The old Nirvana<\/strong>\u2019s drummer<\/strong> last year had stated in another interview:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor years I couldn’t hear any music, much more Nirvana songs.<\/em><\/em>When Kurt left, every time I listened to our compositions on the radio, my heart broke.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I never used to listen to Nirvana recordings, but I always listened to them in the car somewhere in the store.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me it is very personal\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nirvana<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Nirvana<\/strong> was founded in 1987<\/strong> and by the autumn of 1990<\/strong>, several drummers appeared on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 21-year-old Dave Grohl <\/strong>was playing in a band called Scream<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melvins<\/strong> frontman Buzz Osborne<\/strong> convinced Cobain<\/strong> and Novoselic<\/strong> to watch Scream<\/strong>\u2019s concert in San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was when they saw Grohl<\/strong> live for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nirvana welcomed the then young drummer<\/strong>, who first played with them on October 11, 1990<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
